BBW Community Honors and Awards Event

The BBW Community Honors and Awards is affectionately known as the Bygie Awards and will be a red carpet event that celebrates and recognizes individuals and several areas of business, entertainment, multimedia and other various markets that cater to people of size.

A panel of people within the community was created to oversee the awards and includes a fashion competition called Project-BROAD-Way. This stellar fashion competition and show was created by a BBW model, a fashion photographer and an event planner specifically for the bigger model that may not ever get the chance to shine in the mainstream model world.

The celebration takes place at the Palmer Room at 3387 Motor Avenue in Los Angeles on October 12, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. until 3 a.m. The evening kicks off with Project BROAD-Way hosted by Dana Stuart, a talented plus size woman - Followed by the Bygie Awards hosted by Keith from Up Da Block Entertainment. They will also be recognizing 5 individuals or organizations with the Pacesetter Award.

The Pacesetter Award is for those who paved the way for our community which has encouraged so many of us to have good self esteem being a bigger person in a smaller world. The evening ends with an after party celebrating all the winners and our community. Limited tickets are available for purchase online.
